Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen
On the first Day of our Tanger Desert Tour, we will pick you up from your Hotel or Airport in Tangier and then drive you towards Morocco’s Blue city, the beautiful Chefchaouen.
Upon our arrival, you would certainly admire the marvelous buildings and narrow streets, where everything is perfectly blue. You would live and love the relaxing in the blue serenity of Chefchaouen, the beauty is hidden in the Jewish- inspired colored buildings in every shade of blue imaginable, the colors and the unique shades definitely make the Blue Chefchaouen every Photographer’s dream.
The calmness of Chefchaouen and the relaxing blue makes it the perfect escape from crowded cities, as you would enjoy the smooth calm life where there is no crazy hustle and bustle. The beautifully blue and whitewashed walls and majestic mountains overlooking the characterful town would certainly make fall in love with this marvelous location.
We will take you through the old Medina with its blue like maze lined with the beautiful and colorful handicrafts, the Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the large square in the city center gorgeously shaped in the most elegant combination of Arabic and Spanish to have a tempting cup of mint tea and admire the majestic mountains overlooking the city, and entertainers doing all sorts of activity.
After exploring the magical blue city, we will have a tempting local meal for dinner and then spend the night in a lovely blue-washed guesthouse.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes
As soon as we have our fancy breakfast, we will leave the Blue pearl towards a fascinating treasure hidden in the gorgeous Moroccan countryside.
First, we will stop in Meknes, “ The Moroccan Versailles” to wander inside of its magnificent monumental gates and huge old walls. We will start our Meknes tour by visiting “Bab el Mansour” (the most elegant Gateway in Morocco), and then “Dar Jamai” Museum which was before a majestic Royal Palace.
Next, we will take you to enjoy the tastiest Moroccan Tagine in the huge square of Place El Hedim, wander through the narrow streets of The old Medina, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, old Royal granaries and stables.
The following stop would be Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, the holiest Moroccan city, and the sacred home of Moulay Idriss I, the first Moroccan Ruler and the first one to bring Islam to Morocco. We will have a memorable tour of the beautiful cozy town to see the captivating panoramic views and the fabulous Moroccan oldest Mosque.
After that, we will be discovering Volubilis, the ancient Roman site dating back to the 3rd century, to start exploring the remaining streets, huge castles, the magnificent Royal palaces, surviving towers and high large Gates.
You would go back through centuries witnessing the remarkable secrets of one of the most powerful and significant Empires in history, as you discover the most beautiful paintings, the beautiful mosaics, the abandoned stones, and the green surrounding fields.
The last stop on today’s Tangier Desert Tours is Fes, the heart of Morocco, where we will have a typical Fessi dinner and then spend the night in a luxurious historical Riad.
Day 3: Fez Guided Tour
Your Fes Guided Tours starts by picking you up from your Hotel or historic Riad in Fes, then drive towards The Old Medina, the beaten heart of Morocco. The old Medina is a maze-like walled city filled with hidden history and marvelous surviving cultures.
We will enter the Medina from its Royal entry, “Bab Boujloud”, “The Blue Gate” where you would admire the stunning architecture and Majestic decoration, made of spectacular marble, and authentic blue Moroccan tiles, which perfectly turn to green at the other side of the gateway. We will take you through the very narrow streets lined with small shops selling the most captivating handicrafts and handmade items beautifully made to represent the ancient everlasting Moroccan culture.
Afterwards, we will visit the Madrasas (Islamic Schools), The Chouara Tannery, where real leather is being naturally shaped and colored. We will move next to The Merenid tombs, a few giant tombs that sit on the hill above Fes giving the most dramatic and mysterious scene.
Then, we will start exploring outside the walled city starting by the magnificent Royal Palace, where you would get amazed by the spectacular decoration of its hefty brass doors, and the most splendid Moroccan architecture. We would also visit “El Mellah”, the first Jewish quarter in Morocco, an extremely well-preserved walled quarter with a gold souk, large windows and open balconies lining the street, which make a complete contrast of The Old Medina.
After that, we will discover El Mellah and the remarkable Royal Palace before guiding you to the south and north defensive towers of Fes to have the most charming panoramic view of the old Medina. Last, we will go back to our Riad to have a traditional dish for dinner and then have some rest.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga
On the next morning, we will leave the old city heading towards the spectacular Moroccan Sahara. We will drive through the Middle Atlas mountains, passing by the most charming landscapes and captivating Berber villages, to first stop in Ifrane, The marvelous Mountains town. Ifrane city, or “Little Switzerland”, is well known for its clean mountains air, scrubbed streets and leafy outlook.
Next, we will stop in Africa’s largest cedar forest, to play with the funny little Monkeys and admire the fragrant cedar forest trails. Travel Across Morocco
Then, we will pursue to The Berber town of Rocks, The beautiful Midelt, where we will have our Berber Tagine in a cozy Berber-style restaurant, where Vegetables will taste so different, appetizing, fresh and tasty when cooked in a Moroccan Tagine.
Last, we will continue to Merzouga village through Erfoud. Merzouga is Morocco’s magnificent Door the Majestic Sahara. We will find our camels waiting to take us on the most memorable Camel Trek, during the inexplicably magical sunset.
We will spend the second night of our Tangier Desert Tours 8 Days in an intimate desert camp, gathering around the campfire, and listening to the exotic Sahara Music.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
Early in the morning, we will start the next day of our Tangier Desert Tours 8 Days, by an early camel trek, where you would fall in love with the quietness of the wide Sahara and the peaceful Sunrise. We would also have some time in the desert to spot the wildlife and meet the Sahara Nomads.
Next, we will leave the golden Merzouga, passing by the marvelous Sahara villages and green oases. The first stop will be Todra Gorges, the mesmerizing orange cliffs and one of Morocco’s premier sport climbing destinations.
We will continue our way through the old Sahara regions to get to our last stop of the Day, the magical Dades valley. We will have our tasty Moroccan dish for Dinner and spend the night in a lovely local Hotel along Dades River.
Day 6: Valley of the Dades – Valley of the Rose – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Leaving the Dades Paradise, we will pass by “Kelaa Mgouna”, The Rose valley, where the town is all covered with pink and fragrant roses.
We will continue through the fascinating landscapes and small Berber villages to Ouarzazate the Gate of the Moroccan Sahara.
First, we will explore the large International Film Studio, discovering its captivating Moroccan treasures and the home of International Masterpieces, as “Gladiator”, “The Jewel of the Nile” and “Game of Thrones.” We would also take you through the old Mud Buildings with the most fascinating Atlas Mountains Views.
The following Destination would be Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco and the fortified Ksar(Royal Palace). The Kasbah is also an international Film location and a perfect destination to explore the ancient Moroccan Mud Architecture.
After a spectacular tour and a tempting Tagine in the old Kasbah, we will start driving towards Marrakech through the most dangerous road in Morocco, Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the road of A Thousand Kasbah. Our last stop would be Marrakech, where we will check in our luxurious Hotel to finally get some rest.
Day 7: Marrakech Guided Tour
After an appetizing breakfast in The Riad, Travel Across Morocco’s Team will enchant you with a visit to the beaten vivid heart of Morocco, the Red Marrakech.
We will start by walking through the red narrow alleyways of the old Medina, as we step into its old history, exploring the local life and discovering the fascinating handicrafts, beautifully made to reflect the extreme beauty and magic of this vivid old city. Next, we will stop in The Bahia Palace, the spectacular Royal Palace where you can admire the fascinating Moroccan architecture and classical majestic designs.
Then, we will guide you through Jack Majorelle garden to get some fresh air and admire the marvelous green Moroccan-Style Gardens. We would also discover the Minaret, hammams, fountains, artisan workshops, historical sites, gardens and museums, and so many hidden treasures.
We will spend our evening wandering through “Jemaa El Fna Square”, admiring Musicians, storytellers, Henna Women, Magicians, snake and monkey charmers. We would also try there the most delicious Marrakech street food.
At the end of our Marrakech Guided Tour, we will go back to our Hotel in Marrakech to get some rest.
Day 8: Transfer to the airport
After a memorable time and an unforgettable Journey in Morocco The authentic country, our driver will drive will take you to the airport where you would be leaving Morocco, with thousands of memories and life experiences.
